What to expect during the application process

CALL OR EMAIL


In order to protect the privacy of those applying for funds, we have contracted Midwest Center for Trauma and Emotional Healing to process the applications. Your email or voicemail inquiry will be answered within 72 business hours by an Application Consultant who will guide you through the process. If you reach out via email, the Consultant will begin communications with you in writing. When you are ready to have a verbal consultation, they will be able to assist you in completing the process, which could take anywhere between one and four conversations depending on the needs of the individual applicant. 


No matter the complexity of where you are when you reach out, 

CTA Wellness consultants will do their best to accompany callers in the process of finding support. The intent is for everyone who calls to be met with care and concern. 


That being said, CTA Wellness is not an emergency hotline.

APPLICATION CONSULTATION


Because it can be hard to reach out for help, especially when what we carry is so complex, we wanted to give those people who are the first point of contact some depth of context. These compassionate professionals have had extensive conversations with a group of Children's Theatre alumni, and have an understanding of the multifaceted situation that existed at the theatre so many years ago, which means you won't have to worry about trying to explain things that feel unexplainable. As survivors of this complicated history,  a myriad of emotions and experiences live in each of us, both good and bad. Some of our memories are connected to deep love and gratitude, and some are embedded in profound levels of harm. All of these things are valid, and everyone's experience is their own. The consultants respect this.

  • How you were connected to Children's Theatre
  • Impact of your experience at Children's Theatre
  • What kind of support you currently have
  • What kind of support you need

CONNECT TO RESOURCES


The Application Consultants are professionals in the field of trauma healing.  They are there to determine what applicants qualify for, guide you in the process, and help to locate services in your area if you need them, no matter where you live, knowing there may be limitations based on an applicant's location. They are not providing therapy to applicants.


If you qualify for Funds, your consultant can help you connect to resources for your wellness care if you don't already have some. If you are not certain what kind of assistance you need, your consultant will help you figure that out and get you connected to the best options for your unique situation. If you are already receiving mental or emotional support, your consultant will help connect Wellness Funding to your caregiver so you don't have to pay out of pocket to get help. 


Other hotlines or crisis help  may need to be utilized as CTA Wellness and Midwest Trauma are not set up for emergency calls. If you are in need of immediate support, please call the RAINN Hotline at 1-800-656-4673
